Privacy Policy
UnFlocked LLC ("UnFlocked," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website unflocked.org and related services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
We built UnFlocked because we believe in privacy. We practice what we preach — we collect as little data as possible and we never sell it.
Information We Collect
Email address. When you join our waitlist or create an account, we collect your email address. That is the only personal information we require. We do not collect your name, phone number, or any other identifying information unless you voluntarily provide it.
Usage analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool. It provides aggregate information such as page views and traffic sources. It does not identify individual users, set cookies, or track you across websites.
Payment information. Payments for UnFlocked Pro are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number or billing details. Stripe's privacy policy governs all payment data.
Location data. When you enable Live Mode, UnFlocked requests access to your device's GPS location via the browser's Geolocation API. Your location is processed entirely on your device — it is never transmitted to our servers. You can stop Live Mode and revoke location access at any time in your browser settings.
Route and search data — we do not store this. When you enter addresses for route planning, those addresses are sent directly to the OSRM routing API to calculate your route. We do not intercept, log, store, or have access to your search queries, start addresses, destination addresses, route history, or driving patterns. This data goes from your browser to the routing API and nowhere else. We have no record of where you searched or where you drove.
Camera clicks and map interactions. We do not track which cameras you click on, which areas you zoom into, or how you interact with the map. The map runs entirely in your browser using Leaflet.js — no interaction data is sent to our servers.
Community camera reports. If you submit a camera location via our community reporting feature, we store the reported GPS coordinates and camera type. No personal identifying information is associated with submitted reports.
How We Use Your Information
- To send waitlist updates and product launch announcements
- To notify you when early access or Pro features become available
- To send billing receipts and account-related communications if you are a paying subscriber
- To respond to support inquiries
- To improve the product based on aggregate, anonymous usage data
We do not use your email for advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.
Camera Data Sources
The Flock ALPR camera locations displayed in UnFlocked come from publicly available, community-contributed databases. Our primary source is DeFlock (deflock.me) — an open, crowdsourced map of Flock camera locations maintained by privacy advocates. Additional camera data is contributed through our own community reporting feature.
Camera data is not guaranteed to be complete, accurate, or current. Cameras may have been added, removed, or relocated since the data was last updated. Do not rely on this data for any safety-critical decision.
Map tiles are rendered by CartoDB and based on OpenStreetMap data. © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). Road routing is provided by OSRM (Open Source Routing Machine) using OpenStreetMap road data. Address search and geocoding is provided by Nominatim, an open-source geocoder.
Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are used to operate UnFlocked. Each has its own privacy policy which governs how they handle data.

Open Source Libraries
UnFlocked uses the following open source JavaScript libraries, which run entirely in your browser and do not transmit any data to third parties:
- Leaflet.js — open-source interactive maps (BSD 2-Clause License)
- Leaflet.markercluster — map marker clustering (MIT License)
What We Never Do
For absolute clarity:
- We never sell your data to any third party under any circumstances
- We never share your data with law enforcement without a valid court order
- We never log your route searches, destinations, or driving patterns
- We never track your location on our servers — ever
- We never use your data for advertising or share it with advertisers
- We never build a profile of your movements or behavior
Cookies
UnFlocked does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Cloudflare Analytics is cookieless by design. The only cookies that may be set are strictly necessary session cookies required to keep you logged in to a Pro account.
Data Retention
We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to communications from us. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. After unsubscribing, your email is removed from our active list within 30 days.
If you request deletion of your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days except where required by law or for legitimate billing records.
Your Rights
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Unsubscribe from all communications at any time
- Opt out of analytics (Cloudflare Analytics respects the browser Do Not Track setting)
- Revoke location access at any time in your device or browser settings

Children's Privacy
UnFlocked is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
Jurisdiction
UnFlocked LLC is a Michigan limited liability company. This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States. If you are located outside the United States, information you provide may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users on our email list of any significant changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
